Highlanders edge Scottland in shootout as MWOS overpower Bikita Minerals to reach Chibuku Super Cup semis

Highlanders and MWOS confirmed their semifinal berths in the 2025 Chibuku Super Cup this afternoon, sealing the final two spots in the last four of the competition.

In Bulawayo, Highlanders clawed their way back from two goals down to force a penalty shootout against Scottland after a dramatic 2-2 draw. Kingston Mureremba and Khama Billiat had put Scottland in control inside the opening half hour, but Learnmore Muyambo’s quick reply kept Bosso in the contest before Andrew Mbeba struck a stoppage-time equaliser. The tie was eventually settled from the spot, where Highlanders held their nerve to claim a 2-1 win.

Further south in Chiredzi, MWOS were convincing 3-1 winners over Bikita Minerals. Clive Kwangwari opened the scoring inside six minutes, and Arthur Banda doubled the lead midway through the second half. Though Tadiwa Murasiranwa briefly gave Bikita hope with a late strike, Wilson Mensah’s free kick moments later killed off the comeback.

Dynamos and Triangle United, who progressed on Saturday, will now join Highlanders and MWOS in what promises to be an exciting semifinal line-up.
