FC Platinum Suspend Players Over Suspected Match Fixing

FC Platinum, one of Zimbabwe’s top football clubs, has suspended two of its players, goalkeeper David Bizabane and right back Thubelihle Ndlovu, following allegations of match fixing related to their recent game against Scottland FC, a match that has now drawn scrutiny from both fans and officials.

The Zvishavane-based side suffered a shocking and humiliating 5–2 defeat, marking their first loss since the start of the 2025 campaign.

The club has not released an official statement detailing the nature of the allegations, but sources close to the team suggest that the suspensions are linked to suspicious conduct observed during the match.

Bizabane has strongly denied any wrongdoing, stating, “I have nothing to do with match fixing.” Meanwhile, Ndlovu admitted to being approached for information about the team’s starting lineup, claiming he was asked by an individual known only as “Spanner.”

The identity and role of “Spanner” remain unclear. As of now, no formal charges have been laid, and investigations are ongoing.

While the full details are yet to emerge, the suspensions mark a serious moment for FC Platinum, a club that has long prided itself on discipline and professionalism.

The Emirates FA Cup fifth round draw has been made for the 2025-26 season, with the eight ties to be scheduled for the weekend of 7-8 March 2026.

Taking place ahead of Monday evening’s tie between Macclesfield and Brentford, the draw was made by Joe Cole and Karen Carney as clubs look to seal a place in the quarter-final.

Winning clubs in the fifth round will receive £238,500 from the competition prize fund for the 2025-26 season.

The final schedule for the fifth round will be confirmed in due course, following talks with clubs, broadcast partners and local authorities.
