History repeated itself today in Zvishavane where the Norman Mapeza tutored side lost 1-2 to visiting ZPC Kariba. FC Platinum last tested a home defeat just over a year ago and surprisingly to the same team with the same margin.

It was Tawanda Munyanduri’s 18th minute header off a Moses Demera’s curling corner kick that opened the scoring account of the day.

Katuruturu got the insurance goal 5 minutes from the break when Tawanda Nyamandwe tapped it home to double the lead. Despite dictating the pace away from home, a lapse in concentration saw the home side getting a face saver on the 75th minute through Rodwell Chinyengetere but only one goal from FC Platinum could not spare them a defeat.

In Harare, Tonderai Ndiraya’s Ngezi Platinum succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to new boys Herentals FC at the National Sports Stadium. Rookie Tinotenda Benza scored the solitary goal of the afternoon to ensure the Mhondoro based side bite the dust for the fourth time in succession.

Ngezi Platinum last won when they beat CAPS United 3-0 at the National Sports Stadium.

At Rufaro stadium, Harare City FC and CAPS United played a goalless draw despites the visitors enjoying a lion’s share of ball possession which they failed to convert to their advantage.

With a little bit of sharpness, United could have grabbed maximum points but John Zhuwawu and Brian Muzondiwa failed to replicate their former selves and took chances to miss the target.

Captain Hardlife Zvirekwi was introduced in the last 10 minutes of the match replacing Simba Nhivi, in the process igniting some wild chills in the terraces welcoming Zvirekwi who made his first appearance this season.

The former Warriors defender was involved in a car accident early this year which led to the amputation of his wrist.

Harare City 0-0 CAPS United
FC Platinum 1-2 ZPC Kariba
Herentals 1-0 Ngezi Platinum Stars
