Ex-Davis Cup player launches Tennis Academy in Zim

Former Davis Cup and Grand Slam player Michael-Ray Pallares recently launched a tennis academy,One Love Tennis at the Harare Sports Club with a group of 25 children from Mutasa Primary School in the Highfield township of Harare.

The event was held at the Harare Sports Club in collaboration with the National Tennis Federation of Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee, and the Zimbabwe Sports & Recreation Commission.

Speaking during the event, Michael-Ray Pallares, the founder of One Love Tennis said, “I’ve been blessed to have been able to organize events in five continents and regardless of where the children are from, they are all just children in need of love.

Through the vehicle of tennis, I am able to spread the love all over the world and promote the wonderful game of tennis to children who more than likely would never get the opportunity to ever play the sport.”

One Love Tennis, a non-profit organization based out of the United States founded in 2011 by  Michael-Ray Pallares is designed to reach underprivileged and low income youth through affordable tennis, education, and fitness.

The Tennis initiative by the former Davis Cup player  has so far traveled all over the world organizing events for underprivileged and low-income youth.

Michael-Ray Pallares González is a professional tennis player from the Dominican Republic.

He was a member of the Dominican Republic Davis Cup team and represented his country at the Central American and Caribbean Games.

One Love Tennis will continue to work closely with all the three local organizations in order to help grow and develop an enabling environment for the delivery of quality sport and recreation programs that enhances participation by all.
