The Zimbabwean teams put in a spirited performance as they racked in a combined 27 medals at the Confederation Of University And Colleges Sports Association Games (CUCSA) in Botswana.

Zimbabwe performed admirably well at the 19th edition of the Confederation Of University And Colleges Sports Association Games (CUCSA) as they came in third on the medals grid behind only South Africa and hosts Botswana who claimed first and second place respectively.
A total of eight nations participated in the regional competition and these were namely South Africa, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Malawi, Swaziland, Namibia, Zambia and the hosts Botswana.
The tournament covered over 10 sporting disciplines in both men and women categories which include football, volleyball, netball, tennis and athletics.
And the Zimbabwean teams did their nation proud as they brought home 8 gold,8 silver and 11 bronze medals to earn themselves a third-place finish.
Defending champions South Africa retained their position at the summit as they put in a dominant display with a total of 39 medals, an even more improved haul from the title winning 31 medals they acquired in their previous edition.
