Warriors talisman Khama  Billiat who rejected a contract extension with Mamelodi Sundowns amid revelations that European teams were after his signature has made a shocking decision after signing a three year deal with Masandawana rivals, Kaizer Chiefs.

Khama Billiat has signed a three-year contract with South African Premier Soccer League side Kaizer Chiefs, it has emerged.

The news has come somewhat of a shock after it had been widely speculated that the Zimbabwean International, whose contract with Sundowns expired at the end of the 2017-18 Absa Premier League season, would move overseas with some media houses reporting that the forward had held talks with European clubs.

But alas, it is Kaizer Chiefs who have snapped up the prolific forward.

The diminutive forward helped Zimbabwe to retain the COSAFA Cup earlier early this month after scoring two crucial goals in extra time.

He was the Premier Soccer League’s Footballer and Player’s Player of the Season when Sundowns won the Absa Premiership in 2015-16 in addition to also being the star player in Downs’ 2016 Caf Champions League victory

The club manager Bobby Motaung confirmed the latest development.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome these players into the Kaizer Chiefs family,” said Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung.

Chiefs also announced the deal on.it’s official Twitter handle.

Billiat will play alongside fellow countryman Willard Katsande at Amakhosi with the club’s fans hoping that he will bring some desperately-needed class to Chiefs‚ who have not won a trophy in their past three seasons.
