NetOne dangles $15k in World Cup promo

Zimbabwe’s second largest mobile network operator, NetOne unveiled an SMS based World Cup promotion with $15 000 up for grabs.

While the current World Cup tournament in Russia is serving up a buffet of thrills and entertainment, the country’s mobile telecommunications company NetOne is adding more thrills to the games by offering an exciting SMS based promotion to its customers.

This new promotion will surely whet the appetite of participants as there are plenty of prizes are up for grabs including a mouth-watering $15 000 in cash over the course of the World Cup tournament.

The government run company confirmed the development on their twitter account on Monday.

NetOne is well known for its affiliation with the football fraternity, as the company is currently the official sponsors of three of the biggest football teams in the country in the form of Dynamos, Highlanders and Caps United.

Last year, the company also donated $250 000 to the Zimbabwe Football Association for the Warriors Gabon trip, where the team failed to make it to the quarters after a promising start.

NetOne is also well known for defunct OneWallet tournament. A money spinning tournament which would feature top eight teams in the professional football league. The last edition had a pool of more than $500 000.
