The President of Zimbabwe has lauded the Warriors goalkeeper for his heroic efforts through a post on his official Facebook page.

“As we currently debate which candidate has the safest hands for Zimbabwe, we can all agree the answer is without a doubt George Chigova, the Warriors heroic goalkeeper who has saved FIVE penalties this week to get the Warriors into the COSAFA Cup final!”, said the man popularly known as ED.

“Congratulations also go to the Zimbabwean Women’s Team who beat Zambia in the first leg of the final qualifying round of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) yesterday.

“Best of luck to both teams facing our neighbours Zambia this weekend,” read the post.

Chigova has been in scintillating form throughout the tournament so far, and after saving three penalties against Botswana in the quarter finals of the Cosafa tournament on Sunday, he followed that up by saving two more yesterday in the Semi-finals of the same tournament against Lesotho.

With that win, Zimbabwe will now face Zambia in the final of the 2018 COSAFA Tournament on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Mighty Warriors saw off Zambia by a goal to nil in an AFCON Qualifier match played in Zambia yesterday.

Mighty Warriors will host Shepolopolo in the reverse fixture on Sunday at Rufaro stadium on Sunday.

The cheapest ticket has since been pegged at $1 for rest of ground
