The Turkish ambassador to Zimbabwe, Kadir Hiyadet Eris, has pledged to work with Zimbabwe in the development of sport in the country.

The Turkish ambassador, Kadir Hiyadet Eris, paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Sports and Recreation Hon. Kazembe Kazembe, at the ministry offices on Wednesday.
And speaking to SportBrief after meeting the minister, Mr Eris said that Turkey was interested in working with Zimbabwe in developing sport within the country.
“In sport, all the areas can be worked on, because we didn’t limit ourselves to any area but all branches of sport we can work together to develop,” said the Turkish ambassador.
Hon. Kazembe Kazembe echoed the same sentiments, adding that he discussed the proposition of having an exchange program in sport.
“We have immediately began working on a memorandum of understanding and one of the key issues is to have an exchange program in sport,” said Hon Kazembe.
“We also spoke on twining sports academies so that we can assist each other in sport. We know that Turkey is the current world champion in volleyball so we also hope to learn more from them and also improve our own volleyball team.”
The Minister concluded he was happy with the meeting between both parties and hoped that this was the beginning of a great long term relationship.
