Castle Lager unleashes FIFA World Cup Promo for Zim Customers

Delta Beverages’ Castle Lager division on Thursday unveiled an ambitious promotion which will see up to 10 ordinary Zimbabwean soccer fans attending this year’s prestigious International Football Tournament dubbed FIFA World Cup to be held in Moscow, Russia.

Speaking during the official launch, Brand Manager for Castle Lager Stanely Meck said a series of activities which will feed into the ultimate goal, Russia World Cup 2018 date have been lined up.

“Working with our partners, we have lined up a series of activities to send up-to 10 of our own Castle Lager consumers to Russia to enjoy the World Cup live this year,” said Meck.

In his presentation, Meck explained the two separate categories for landing the trips to Russia.

“The first package offers 2 all-expenses paid tickets to consumers who will win a competition we are launching today. Consumers need to purchase limited edition Castle Lager bottles, to stand a chance to win trips in a draw to be conducted at the end of May 2018.

In the second category, excitingly, for those inclined towards playing football, we are rolling out a nation-wide series of community based 5-aside games that will operate on a knockout basis, culminating into a final team emerging as Zimbabwe champions.

The local Zimbabwe champions will then play against representatives of other African countries in Lusaka between the 24th and 26th of May. Should our local champions win that match, they will be on an all expenses trip to Russia for the world cup,”  Stanley explained.

The company, one of the biggest beverage manufacturers and suppliers in the continent announced that they are working  with continental luminary Samuel Eto’o and local legend, Tinashe Nengomasha as champions for the programme.

 

Local Zimbabwean soccer legend, Tinashe “Father” Nengomasha has been appointed local ambassador for the 5 aside games with Samuel Eto’o playing the same role on a continental level where AB-InBev, shareholders in Delta Beverages are running similar activations.

“It’s very hard to describe the experience of being in packed stadium during a high-profile match. I am excited that fellow Zimbabweans will be getting the same experiences I have also had as a professional, if we win the 5-aside challenge on a continental level. I appreciate Castle Lager for putting together this program, and am happy to be the local Castle Lager 5-Aside ambassador,” said Tinashe Nengomasha on the sidelines of the launch.

To be part of the action, consumers simply have to register a team of 6 at participating outlets around the country. The chosen lucky teams will take part in the local play-offs being held. For those not keen on playing, they can buy 4 Castle Lager pints or quarts and enter the promotion as well.

The team that comes out on top in Zimbabwe, goes through to the finals in Zambia.  The winners of the Castle Africa 5’s will be crowned as champions in the Zambian capital, Lusaka.  The winning team not only gets the title of being CASTLE AFRICA 5‘s CHAMPIONS, the team also wins an all-expenses paid trip to Russia to experience the world’s ultimate football spectacle at the FIFA World Cup – Russia.

Castle Lager acquired the exclusive rights to be the official beer of the FIFA World Cup for Zimbabwe, and the brand has pledged to ensure that as many Zimbabweans as possible have the opportunity to have a more personal experience of the world cup through this association.

The campaign is centered on the brand’s theme, “Live It, Feel It and Share It” as consumers all over the country will sit to enjoy their favorite beer during the expected twists and turns of the FIFA World Cup games

The announcement of the world cup package comes at a time Castle Lager has re-affirmed its commitment to the domestic premiership and the recent Castle Challenge Cup.

The brand remains the largest sponsor of football in the country with a fund of over $1,250,000 spread between direct sponsorship, media and communications and consumer facing promotions this year alone.
