NetOne CEO Lazarus Muchenje told journalists on Sunday that Epoupa has received over $18 000 from NetOne and Dynamos.

“To date, NetOne and Dynamos have paid a gross total of $18 125 to Epoupa this year,” the NetOne boss said.

The company covered all that Dynamos owes Epoupa.

“To this end we wish to put on record and categorically state that NetOne is not in any financial breach in terms of its sponsorship agreement with Dynamos and has processed all of Epoupa’s allowances and Sign-on fees as per the schedules submitted to us by Dynamos,” said Muchenje.

NetOne had to call for a meeting on Friday night with all the involved parties as it affected their brand as the sponsor.

“Whilst this matter is purely what we would like to believe, a misunderstanding between Dynamos and Epoupa, the prolonged stand-off between the two parties has become cause for concern for our brand.

“To this end we went over and above our contractual obligations and called for an all stakeholders meeting with Dynamos and Epoupa’s Manager on Friday evening to seek clarity on the matter with a view of assisting both parties to find an amicable resolution that is mutually beneficial for all brands,” Muchenje said.

NetOne unveiled a sponsorship package of over $1 million to three heavyweights of Zimbabwean football namely Dynamos FC, Highlanders and Caps United.

The Dynamos striker vowed not to play for the team until his arrears were cleared.

Meanwhile Netone has taken up the payment burden from the three teams.

“As the sponsor, we have ensured direct payment to all the players through our One Money platform as per the provisions of our agreement with all the three clubs,” said Muchenje.
