The Zimbabwe Women’s football team have one foot in the final qualifying round of the Africa Women Cup of Nations after defeating Namibia 2-0 on Thursday.

The Mighty Warriors will take a two-away goal advantage heading into the second leg of the Women’s AFCON Qualifier after defeating Namibia in the first leg of the first round at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek on Thursday.
Zimbabwe looked in control throughout the match as Marjory Nyaumwe struck in the first half to put the visitors ahead.
The second goal came courtesy of Mavis Chirandu on the 90 minute mark to wrap a convincing win for the Mighty Warriors.
The local ladies will now make their back into the country where they will again face Namibia in the second leg of the encounter on Sunday at Rufaro stadium.
The Mighty Warriors will no doubt fancy their chances of causing another upset to the Namibians as they will now have the home fans to spur them on.
The emerging winner across the two legs will progress to the second round to face either Tanzania or Zambia with the eventual winner booking their tickets for the finals to be held in Ghana.
