In a fiercely contested match, the visiting Kenyans were favourites after having beaten the Zimbabwe Cheetahs 14-12 in the round robin stage of the tournament.
But with the hosts retaining the full backing of the crowd, they were hoping to ride the home support and overcome the Kenyan Shujas.
Although the two teams played out an entertaining encounter, they both fielded B-team sides as they prepare for the much anticipated seven’s tournament in Hong Kong next month.
Despite the visiting Kenyans ultimately claiming the win, the Cheetahs definitely gave them a run for their money as they made a good account of themselves throughout the tournament.
In the run up to the final the Cheetahs had beaten fellow neighbours Zambia while Kenya had defeated Uganda to set up the encounter.
