The Sport Journalists Association Northern region chapter (SPOJA-N) has recently announced the nominees for the awards ceremony to be held on 24 February.

The Sports Journalists Association Northern region chapter (SPOJA-N) awards will be rewarding two outstanding local sports journalists for the year 2017 in two main categories which are the Sports Journalist of the Year in Print Media and Electronic Media.
Preparations for the awards ceremony are at an advanced stage, with the nomination process having already been completed as editors from respective media houses, tasked with the responsibility of nominating those they feel excelled in 2017, have submitted their names.
With the nomination process now complete, the next step will see the list of nominees go through an adjudication committee that will sift through the names and the submitted works of the selected journalists on Tuesday 20 February before deciding on the two winners.
The eventual winners will be announced on the 24th of February during a get together at Belgravia Sports Club where SPOJA-N is also set to launch a football team that will be taking on Zimpapers on that same day.
The award winners are also set to pocket $250 each.
