In a handover ceremony held in the capital, Minister Kazembe Kazembe emphasized on the need for accountability to ensure continuity of the sponsorship.

“I am not saying the club leaders will abuse funds but I have seen it happening,” said Kazembe.

“It would be my suggestion that clubs transfer the responsibility of accountability to the sponsor just to ensure transparency,” he added.

The youthful minister who at one point was within the Dembare ranks as a team manager officially handed over the sponsorship package to the three local giants Dynamos, Highlanders and CAPS United.

Each package was valued at $350 000.

The giant telecoms operator already disbursed the first installment of their package to the clubs on Wednesday through the One Wallet mobile money platform.
