Maritzburg United on the verge of signing Caps Star

ABSA Premier Soccer League side Maritzburg United are reported  to be on the verge of completing a deal with one of Caps United’s last season star performer.

According to Kickoff, John Zhuwawu is touted as the best replacement to departed striker Evans Rusike, who joined SuperSport United on a three-year deal on Tuesday.

A source close to the developments revealed to Kickoff that the club management was busy with process f bringing in the services of Zhuwawu.

“There’s a Zimbabwean striker they are signing. The club management was busy with processes from yesterday on making sure that he’s registered on time before the window closes at midnight,” the source revealed to Kickoff.

The local state media, The Herald, also confirmed that Maritzburg United were serious in signing the forward who contributed much to Dominic Chungwa’s resurgence after asking for his police clearance.

Zhuwawu was last year on Ajax Cape Town radar but now it seems  ‘The Team of Choice’ are closing in on the player as the transfer deadline draws closer. 

Maritzburg United is a South African football club based in the city of Pietermaritzburg that currently plays in the Premier Soccer League and are on position six.
