In a move that is highly unlikely to see the light of day, ambitious Premier League side Caps United are reported to be considering former Chicken Inn coach in the club’s technical team set up.

Rahman Gumbo, who guided his previous team Chicken Inn to an unimpressive 4th place is reported to have attracted interests from 2016 PSL Champions Caps United.
Caps United are thought to be hunting for Chitembwe’s assistant following an abrupt departure of Mark Mathe for Division One side, Harare City.
Although it’s not confirmed yet, a source close to the whispers told this publication that Caps are considering to bring in the services of the well-regarded coach to its technical structure as assistant to Lloyd Chitembwe.
“I overheard the discussions in the admin’s office that Gumbo is one of the targeted candidates to fill in the void left by Mark Mathe. But it’s not confirmed,” the source revealed.
Rahman Gumbo, whose contract was not renewed after he could only manage a fourth place finish in the 2017 league campaign has since been replaced by Joey Antipas.
Gumbo spent the better part of season without an assistant after Thulani Sibanda resigned a few games into the season to return to First Division side Bulawayo Chiefs, who he led to the 2018 Premiership without losing a match in winning the second tier league.
The 2015 champions did not seek renewal with Rahman Gumbo as they were already decided on which coach will take them into the new season.
We wait to see if the former Highlanders and FC Platinum coach could agree to join the Green Machine under such a downgraded post.
