#CAFChampionsLeagueDrawResults: FC Platinum to play Angolan giants

The draw for the preliminary rounds of the Total CAF Interclubs 2018 was conducted on Wednesday during the meeting of the CAF Interclubs Committee at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

Zimbabwe’s representatives in the CAF Champions League, FC Platinum have been paired with Angolan giants  Desportivo 1ero Agosto.

Desportivo 1ero Agosto will host the Zimbabwean giants in the first leg of the preliminary rounds and Pure Platinum Play, as FC Platinum are popularly known will host its opponents two weeks later.

The winner will either face South African giants, Bidvest Wits, or Pamplemousses of Mauritius.

Pamplemousses, a team which hails from the district of Mauritius is not new to most local football fans. Last year it participated in the CAF Confederation Cup where it was booted out in the preliminary rounds by Ngezi Platinum, a team that represented Zimbabwe in the 2nd powerful league in Africa.

Pamplemousses were held to 1 all draw in their own backyard before Ngezi Platinum dismissed them by a goal to nil in the 2nd leg.

Fifty-nine (59) were engaged for the Total CAF Champions League 2018 and fifty-four (54) for the Total CAF Confederation Cup 2018.

Meanwhile, eight federation did not engage their clubs namely Cape Verde, Chad, Eritrea, Namibia, Reunion, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone and Somalia.
