Harare giants CAPS United will only know of the way forward on their abandoned match today after they have been summoned for a hearing today.
By Sportbrief Reporter.
Caps United however have a 50% chance of a replay as abandonment was rather caused by lack of security than the behaviour of the fans.
The match was abandoned in the 65th minute with hosts Shabanie leading 1-0.
The ugly scenes were witnessed after United equalised through Kudzai Nyamupfukudza and the referee signalled a goal whilst linesman Thomas Kusosa flagged for an offside.
Ncube, the centre referee then overrode the goal for a free kick to Shabanie of which CAPS United angry mob reacted by throwing missiles.
The discord between the match officials triggered the mishap but the inadequacy of police details to protect the referees led to the abandonment.
The Chibuku Super Cup semi finals draw will be held today in the capital and the semis are slated for this Sunday and Monday.
PSL Communications Manager Kudzai Bare confirmed the development.
“The hearing will be conducted tomorrow (today), after the draw. So we will update on the judgment afterwards,” said Bare.
