Federer dispatches Nadal to win Shangai Masters

The 36-year old made short work of his fierce rival with an unprecedented triumph over the Spaniard in Shanghai, China on Sunday.

Swiss tennis sensation Roger Federer steamrolled his way past his long-time rival Rafael Nadal with a straight-sets victory to win the Shanghai Masters on Sunday.

Federer saw off the Spaniard with relative ease as he put in yet another impressive display in China to claim a clean sweep 6-4, 6-3 victory over the World Number 1.

Nadal never really looked like causing any sorts of trouble for the Swiss as he played second fiddle for much of the contest.

In contrast, Federer was in sparkling form, stamping his authority on the court and playing some superb strikes that the Spaniard simple had no response to.

The match was, however, something of a disappointment for the neutrals having failed to live up to its billing as a highly competitive encounter and instead becoming more of a Roger Federer show.

One thing for certain is that Federer’s fans will definitely not mind about the competitiveness of the match and will be over the moon in the wake of his title triumph.
