Warriors midfielder Marvelous Nakamba picked up his first ever award for his club FC Brugge after he was named the club’s September Player of the Month.

The 23 year-old has only been with the Belgian club for four months, having joined over the past transfer window in June, but he has become a key player for Club Brugge.

The club has started the season very well, with eight wins in their nine league matches so far and that impressive form has seen them sitting top of the table.

Nakamba warded off competition from fellow midfielders Hans Vanaken and Ruud Vormer to win the honours as per the club’s official website.

“It was exciting, but Marvelous Nakamba is your Proximus Player of the Month for September! He scored 26% ahead of fellow midfielders Hans Vanaken and Ruud Vormer. Nakamba is rewarded for his hard work in the midfield, where he dominates with his interceptions and bold soccer. With Vanaken and Vormer in second and third place respectively, it should be clear that the Brugge midfield turned well in September,” read the website.

The Warriors midfielder, who is highly rated for his industrious work at the middle of the park, joined Club Brugge in June from Dutch side Vitesse, where he had won the Dutch Cup with his side beating AZ Alkmaar in the final.
