Zimbabwean wrestlers upbeat on being World Koresh Wrestling Champions


Two Zimbabwean wrestlers are bullish of bringing the much coveted trophies home from the ongoing World Koresh Wrestling Championships in Belarus.

After pulling a stellar performance at the continental competition of  a wrestling stlye called Tarter Koresh in South Africa, Tedious Takundwa and Hebert Mandizvidza earned themselves places at world tourney.

“Tedious T Takundwa and Hebert Mandizvidza Mururi after qualified by becoming top five in the continental championship that they won medals in South Africa 5 months back,” said Masinire.

The competition which began on October 5 to end on Sunday will receive prizes yet to be determind by the organizing committee should they outcompete their opponents.

Masirire said they are confident the duo will win at Belarus based on their sharp wit and skills in South Africa although having to eat with their fingers crossed.

“The chances of winning are very high taking into cognizance the way they did it in SA,” he said.
