The West Indies have announced their squad for the upcoming two-Test series against the Chevrons beginning on October 21.
And the Windies have made no alterations to the team that were involved in the 2-1 Test series loss to England recently, including all 15 members that were involved in that series.
Courtney Browne, the chairman of the Cricket West Indies selection panel, justified the squad selection by saying that the team showed that they deserved the inclusion based on their performances in England.
“The dedication, commitment and focus in their preparation and during the series in England showed immense character for such a young team in very difficult conditions against World-class competition,” said Browne.
“The lessons learnt on that tour augurs well for the individual players and the team’s continued development as a whole and we wish them well on the Tour of Zimbabwe,” she added.
The Chevrons will be looking to claim the scalp of the Caribbean boys next after having sprung a surprise win in their tour of Sri-Lanka recently.
West Indies begin their tour with a practice game against Zimbabwe A from October 15-17 at the Bulawayo Athletic Club. The first Test begins on October 21, while the second Test will be played from November 2 with both matches to be held at the Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo.
