The Manchester City striker was reportedly injured in a car crash in Amsterdam, hours after attending a concert, it has emerged.

Manchester City’s 29 year old star striker Sergio Aguero was injured in a car crash on Thursday afternoon. The Argentine forward was reported to be in a taxi on his way to the airport after watching singer Maluma perform.
According to City officials, Aguero “was in Holland on his day off and has sustained injuries”. However, the club is yet to determine the extend of the injuries sustained by the Argentine as he is expected back in Manchester on Friday to be examined by City’s medical team before the Premier League trip to Chelsea on Saturday.
Police in Amsterdam confirmed to the BBC that two people were in a taxi which crashed in the De Boelelaan area of the city.
Earlier on Thursday evening, the Argentina forward had posted a photo of himself and Maluma on Instagram with the message “thanks for the invitation”.
The striker has scored seven goals in eight matches for City this season, helping Pep Guardiola’s side reach the top of the Premier League and win their first two Champions League group matches.
Both the striker’s club and country will be hoping for a speedy recovery with the Citizens the more anxious one as they face a crunch premier league encounter with Chelsea.
After that, the international break follows with Aguero named in Argentina’s squad for their final two World Cup qualifiers against Peru (5 October) and Ecuador (10 October).
Argentina are fifth in the South American section standings, which only guarantees a play-off place.
