The hosts were in tantalizing form as they tore apart Kenya 4-0 to set up a final showdown with neighbours South Africa in a semi-final encounter on Thursday.

The Zimbabwe National Women’s football team did the nation proud as they advanced into the final of the 2017 COSAFA Women’s tournament courtesy of a 4-0 thumping of Kenya in a semi-finals match played in Bulawayo on Thursday.
Going into the match much was expected of the Mighty Warriors by virtue of them being hosts of the tournament although local suporters approached the encounter with caution as a result of the team’s rather below par performances of late.
But at a time when it mattered the most, the girls brought their A game as they came off the blocks flying with prolific forward Makore putting the hosts ahead as early as the 11th minute.
From then on, things appeared to get worse for the Kenyans as just before the break, Kabwe scored to double the Mighty Warriors tally.
The Kenyans for all their futile efforts to get back into the game never really looked like threatening to do so and eight minutes after play resumed, the Warriors added another goal and this time it was Nyaume who got on the score-sheet.
That goal effectively killed the match as a contest and there was even time for another one as an 89th minute goal from Mupeti completed the rout at Barbourfields stadium.
The Mighty Warriors will now face South Africa to determine who will claim the title of the 2017 COSAFA Championship. Earlier on, Banyana Banyana had defeated Zambia 3-5 on penalties with the match having ended on a 3-3 stalemate.
