Things have taken a new twist on former CAPS United forward Brian Abbas Amidu as he has dumped Al Weda FC of Saudi Arabia in preference of a North African club where he is understood to have signed a two year deal.
BY SPORTBRIEF REPORTER
Following a top drawer performance in the CAF Champions League, numerous top African clubs reportedly chased the signature of the lanky forward but reliable information reaching Sportbrief’s news desk suggests that Amidu has signed a two year deal with Military Productions SC of Egypt.
Zamalek, TP Mazembe, Al Weda, Smouha and several Moroccan and Tunisian clubs were interested in the services of the CAPS United forward.
Amidu had initially settled for Al Weda of Saudi Arabia but the deal reportedly collapsed on the last minute after the receiving club failed to agree terms with CAPS United despite agreeing with the player.
It is reported that Makepekepe had put on a sale clause of 20% but Al Weda wanted it to be 10% and the two parties went at loggerheads.
Upon getting wind of the fallout, Egyptian side Military Productions SC , long time admirers of Amidu, were quick to rope in the player and put pen to paper Abbas Amidu’s signature.
No official comment could be available from the CAPS United at the time of publishing.
Amidu’s deal is believed to be in the region f $30 000.
