The news has just flooded the market that the ‘razor blade’ boys all have been longing for,are now part of our own.

Don’t get lost in the shores of the sea because our land possess none.

The story which has made the never say never football mad local supporters to be ecstatic is the issue to do with something that has taken place in the Warriors room and also at our own Green Machine.

The Warriors are said to be an inch closer to getting its foreign gallaxy dotted across Europe back home to don the famious gold and green jersey.

Finally the foreign players such as roving wing-back Tendai Darikwa,Kundai Benyu are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel as they continue to be charmed by the Warriors’ never stopping grilling machine.

The Warriors by the way managed to wallop a seemingly lowly Lone Star of Liberia but the bigger pictures are there to note that like champaigne the senior Gallacticos continue to mature.

The possession dominance by the Warriors show more of a growing up little Goliath than just another side dotted with the mere push-overs.

It had been a long time ever since all of us have enjoyed the mercurial famous ‘Mexican wave’ in the terraces that usually send shivers down the spines of an opponent in the field of play.

As if that was not enough, the new captain Knowledge Musona began his reign as the leader by asserting himself among the best leaders to have ever won that precious armband by notching in a rare hat-trick by any player in an AFCON qualifier but not by him.

The Smiling Assassin as the new captain is famously called has always been a reliable and prolific goal poacher whenever he wears that famous jersey and does not disappoint his backers in all instances.

This is the Galactico we have always welcomed like our own King Peter who has been the flag bearer for a long time.

The wailings have been irritating for a long time as to why the country was failing to find another germ in the mould of the Flying Elephant that is Peter Ndlovu.

The question was able to be answered this last week after new captain Musona scored a hat-trick to take his tally to 21 international goals in all competition with 39 caps so far.

At the same time King Peter still stands as the all-time Warriors goal scorer sitting at a distance 38 goals in 100 caps for the country in all official games in competitions and friendlies.

There are many ladder steps to be climbed by the Smiling Assassin to surpass the legendary King Peter but if it happens,it will be a glorious moment for the benefit of a land that has for long craved to have its own Cristiano Ronaldo arch-type forward.

Musona has been named as the all time AFCON qualifiers and competitions top marks man over a period of seven years beating the likes of Didier Drobga,Asamoah Gyan,Traore and Piere Aubemeyang among others.

The glory is for all of us and like in Bernabeau we welcome our Galacticos at the fortress National Sports Stadium. Hail ooh Prince Knowledge who is seemingly looking likely to assume this crown which our forever legend King Peter wishes it would be taken by someone after a decade of soul searching.

A GREEN MACHINE THAT HAS FINALLY LOOKED WEST

The story tale of the National Sports Stadium never ends without talking about our own Green Machine.

CAPS United are the reigning Champions in the domestic scene but most notably the sole representative of Zimbabwe in the CAF club competitions and the Champions League to be precise.

The other ones, Ngezi Platinum Stars were harshly forced to kiss a goodbye after being eliminated from the CAF Confederations Cup the Hayatou style by an Angolan side.

The Green Machine have since defied the odds staked against them after managing to stage a shocking mutiny against the mighty ‘Too Powerful’ TP Mazembe whom they relegated to the CAF Confederations Cup.

The coup helped the Green Machine’s current crop of players to change the archives journal by becoming the first generation of the team in its 40+ years of existence to qualify to the group stages of the continental inter-club competitions.

Makepeke have also managed to take control of the giant National Sports Stadium in which they have often become another proverbial hard nut to crack until recently when they were brought down to mother earth by a fully charged Al Ahli Tripoli in a match they were haunted by a series of injuries on their key players.

The club has since moved swiftly to avert the crisis bedevilling their camp by finally snatching the signatures of ‘great’ forwards in the Ghanian Richard Addai, Nigerian Chidiebere and another surprise marquee forward in Sunzu of Zambia who have been on trials for long with the exception of Wilson Andoh.

Often it has been known that whenever Makepekepe cross the borders to bolster their squad they look no further than the fields of Malawi and Zambia where their findings have not always disappointed.

Talk of the likes of Laughter Chilembe,Anold Mwanza,Gerald Papa Phiri Senior,Clive Mwale,Yves Eba Bali and Joseph Kamwendo.

These have all excelled in the green jersey and the last foreign galactico to don the Green Machine jersey that Shackman Tauro worked hard to put in the vile ,Gerald Phiri Jnr did not disappoint either.

The Phiri Jnr of Malawi who came from the Mighty Wanderers was able to assert himself as another darling and is always remembered for saving CAPS United from the jaws of defeat at the hands of sworn rivals Dynamos on that hot Sunday afternoon in 2015 at Rufaro by scoring a rocket free-kick after Dynamos had taken the lead through a magical Murape Murape who always rose at the big ocassion.

The goal by the marvelous attacker was able to save the day for a Makepekepe that had for long been used to receive the beating from their city rivals for 4 years.

The new foreign acqusitions have a lot of grounds work to do in order to have themselves entered into that famous list of the Green Machine gallax of stars.

The Champions League looks likely to produce another mountanious adventure for the Zimbabweans but with these new Galacticos all hope can start to flow in the minds of all patriotic football fans.

This makes almost everyone to say, “At the NSS…We welcome our galacticos like in Bernabau”, which is the place where this term of galacticos began through the marquee signing of stars by the legendary Santiago Bernabau of Real Madrid.
