Former Liverpool and Zimbabwe’s Dream Team number one goalkeeper Bruce ‘Jungleman’ Greobbler was today honoured with an award nomination for his contributions to the country’s sport in the last 10 years.
The legendary goalie was voted in the Great Diasporans category of the Alpha Media Holdings’ (AMH) 100 Great Zimbabweans inaugural awards ceremony together with a host of other great personalities.
Also to make it to the list was the Warriors duo of Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat who were nominated in the Sports category for their efforts in raising the country’s flag high.
The awards winners list was released in the Newsday Weekender edition on Saturday and the ceremony has been slated for Tuesday(today) evening in the capital.
The winners were voted by Zimbabweans from all walks of life on the Newsday website,email and downloaded copies which were send to their offices with the final selection process being conducted by a special panel of adjudicators. Newsday has promised to run the competition annually with the view of identifying and celebrate the country’s less obvious and unsung heroes and heroines from all walks of life.
