In a game that was relatively one sided, ZPC Kariba continued with their fine form by sending 2016 champions to the dust bin in Kariba on Thursday.
The home side threatened from the onset and in the 12th minute they were awarded a penalty only for Edmore Sibanda to save it leaving the scoreline at a respectable nil all.
5 minutes later, Zikumbawire pounced on a loose ball in the box and placed it beyond the reach of Edmore Sibanda, in goals for CAPS United.
Abbas Amidu, Ronald Pfumbidzai and James Nguluve took turns to miss the the target as United created better chances in the middle of the park in search of an equaliser, with Devon Chafa being involved in most Makepekepe moves.
The scoreline stood nil all up to half time.
Upon resumption, the visitors were quick to react to Lloyd Chitembwe’s half time talk and in the 46th minute, Brian Abbas Amidu equalized for CAPS United.
With a little bit of luck, former captain Moses Muchenje could have doubled the lead but a glorious chance that was easier to score than to miss went yawning in the 74th minute.
For failing to convert good chances, Makepekepe were punished in the 90th minute by Never Tigere who scored the winning goal.
3 minutes were added as injury time but the damage had already been done.
