Thirty-three attain IHF D Licence in Mash West

KADOMA-THIRTY- three (33) out of thirty four participants who took part in a three day International Handball Federation coaching course in Mashonaland West province successfully attained level D Coaching License.

The coaching course targeting handball coaches and local school teachers started on Tuesday and ended today (Thursday) at Jameson High School in Kadoma.

Revered visiting German Handball instructor Helmut Martin was pleased with the spirit exuded by the participants during the intense three day course.   

Martin, who is enjoying this part of the world at the invitation of the Stewart Sanhewe-led Zimbabwe Handball Federation said,

“That’s my second best course. Harare was the best not in the country but in Africa so far from the places I have covered, I hope this will work. The main aim is to improve and start Handball at grassroots level in the country.”

Provincial Education Director for Mashonaland West Mr Mhumha , National Association of Primary Heads (NAPH) head in charge for handball Thomas Tarwirei , Zimbabwe Handball Federation Vice president Mr Mhondiwa and the Association’s secretary general Mr E.Chirodza were among respected and heads in charge at the certificate handover ceremony.

At the certificate handover ceremony Helmut said he is looking forward to return to Zimbabwe to further train the discipline.

“After two years, the ZHF board should invite me so that i can see changes to international class handball , to me Zim Handball has got greater potential to improve as everyone starting with The ZHF board are putting focus , effort and show love with Handball ,So all in all there is greater potential to improve,” he added.

In Harare, 50 participants walked away with the D licenses. From Kadoma, ZHF takes the handball coaching course to Bulawayo.

The coaching course to train handball coaches in Mashonaland West was organised by the Zimbabwe Handball Federation.
