Ngezi edge Pamplemousse

The home team raced into the lead on 15 minutes courtesy of a striker by Dzukamanja. That early goal appeared to unsettle their opponents who played second fiddle for the better part of the match only to come out of their grooves in the second half in which they threatened with a series of attacks.

However, to their credit, Ngezi Platinum remained resolute in defence .

After having managed to score an away goal in the first leg of the preliminary round in Mauritius last weekend courtesy of a penalty converted by Liberty Chakoroma which made the score line1-1, the result on Sunday means Ngezi Platinum go through on a 2-1 aggregate victory.

The Tonderai Ndiraya-coached side will now face off Recreativo do Libolo of Angola in the first round.

The 16 winners of the first round advance to the play-off round, where they are joined by the 16 losers of the Champions League first round.
