FC Platinum extended their stay at the summit sending a huge statement about this year’s championship title after dismissing struggling Dynamos by two goals to nil. The goals came from defender Elvis Moyo and Walter Musona.

With Dembare starting in bullish mode from the onset, Mutasa’s side could not turn their dominance into something tangible and were eventually punished by Moyo with only 10 minutes into the match.
The goal did not sound as a big deal as Dembare enjoyed a lion’s share of possession, with Denver Mukamba Masimba Mambare and Tichaona Chipunza being involved in most cases in search of an equaliser.
Composure turned into dominance for the home side just after the half hour mark with Rodwell Chinyengetere asking too many questions in the Dembare half.
A lapse in concentration just before half time saw the Platinum’s attacking duo of Walter Musona and Rodwell Chinyengetere catching the Dembare defense on sixes and sevens and Musona placed it beyond the reach of Tatenda Mukuruva, in goals for Dembare, to give the home side an insurance goal.
On resumption from the break, Dynamos seemed a more determined side but could not find the target to reduce the arrears.
Valentine Ndaba, Masimba Mambare, and Denver Mukamba continued to take turns to miss the target despite dominating on the midfield.
Petros Mhari had to work extra time to keep the visitors at bay as Dembare launched one attack after the other.
With less than 5 minutes to full time, Dominic Mukandi had to take matters into his hands but had to watch in disbelief as his effort crushed against woodwork, with Mhari a well beaten man.
3 minutes were added but the damage had already been done, giving Norman Mapeza’s side yet another set of 3 points.
It ended 2-0 in favour of FC Platinum.
