The first round action proved to be a huge disappointment for Zimbabwean players at Harare Sports Club.
Benjamin Lock lost his first round encounter against Marc Huesler in straight sets.
Lock struggled to get into any kind of rhythm as he lost the first set 7-5.
The Zimbabwe Davis Cup player could not stamp his authority in the second set as Huesler won 6-4 to claim a 7-5, 6-4 straight sets win.
After winning the first leg, Lock was disappointed by his performances in the second and third legs.
Also in action on Tuesday was Mehluli Sibanda who lost to France’s Hugo Nyc 6-3, 6-1.
Courtney Lock also lost his first round encounter against Matias Descotte of Argentina 6-3, 6-2.
