After he was deemed excess garbage by his team in the South Africa’s ABSA League, Mwanjali traced his roots back to CAPS United and joined the side in January this year on a six month contract.
Mwanjali regrouped at United and enjoyed a five star performance that earned him a regular position in the Makepekepe’s starting line up.
His contract expired on the 30th of last month, declaring him a free agent.
This publication can exclusively reveal that Mwanjali left Harare on Wednesday morning en-route to Tanzania where Young Africa FC invited the player for ‘talks’, a close and reliable source privy to the proceedings confirmed.
“Method Mwanjali left for Tanzania this morning for talks with Tanzanian football club,Young Africans. Mwanjali’s contract with CAPS United expired on June 30,” said the source which preferred to remain anonymous citing club protocols.
Born on April 25 in 1983, Mwanjali was once a Shabanie Mine Football Club Player, before making a move to join CAPS United Football Club.
He was to spend four seasons with the green machine where he proved to be a very versatile player playing both in defence and in midfield before attracting the interests of Mamelodi Sundowns.
Although Mwanjali managed to get regular time at the Brazilians during his early days at the club, the arrival of Mosimane at the club saw the player having limited game time and eventually being loaned to Mpumalanga Black Aces despite Mosimane’s protests that Mwanjali was still part of the team.
With the expiry of his loan tenure at Mpumalanga Black Aces, Mwanjali then returned home before reuniting with the Green Machine.
At the peak of his career with Sundowns, Mwanjali was the team captain. Mwanjali will join Tanzanian side as a free agent.
