NATIONAL Football Association of Zimbabwe (NFAZ), grossed a total of $158 000 from the high profile 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Flames of Malawi at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Its the highest amount the soccer mother body formerly known as ZIFA has generated under the leadership of president Philip Chiyangwa.
The Warriors who defeated Malawi 3-0 to qualify for the biennial soccer tournament to be held in Gabon in January have been given $63 000 to share from the amount. This is on top of the $250 000 they were given by Harare business tycoon.
Zifa had hiked gate charges for the match with the rest of ground ticket pegged at$5, upper grand stand $20, and VVIP $50.
The previous home match against Swaziland at the National Sports Stadium on Easter Monday had generated a gross total of $92 000.
The Warriors qualified for the biennial soccer showcase courtesy of goals by Knowledge Musona, Khama Billiat and Curthbert Malajila which lifted their points tally to 11.
