In a twist and turn of events at number 53 Livingstone house in the Capital, the Philip Chiyangwa led executive has finally brought down the Limpopogate scandal curtain after handing various bans to individuals who were implicated, with only Kudzie Mashaba surviving the chop
The scandal came into light a few weeks before the Warriors of Zimbabwe clushed against the IsiHlangu of Swaziland in an AFCON Qualifier match, with the Zimbabwe’s soccer governing board, ZIFA, claiming that it had gathered all the evidence to nail implicated individuals.
It is believed that the syndicate was being led by Henrietta Rushwaya, and Edzai Kasinauyo together with Nation Dube played major roles.
It is understood that the match fixing syndicate targeted the Zim-Swazi match, as well as South African’s ABSA games.
In a meeting held today at the ZIFA Village, Henrietta Rushaya, a renowned match fixer who is not new to the courts for the same case, has been handed a life ban from all football activities together with her partner in crime, Jonathan Musavengana.
Edzai Kasinauyo, and Nation Dube will spend the next 10 years away from any football related activities, whilst Nation Dube has been slept with a 5 year ban.
Kudzie Shabba survived the chop, and has been acquitted.
The bans, however, are yet to be approved b y FIFA, meaning they are, as of now, only effective in Zimbabwe.
No official comment could be obtained from ZIFA at the time of print.
