Billiat Eyes ABSA Golden Boot Award

Zimbabwean midfielder Khama Billiat continued to show his worth after playing a huge role in Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates on Wednesday evening.

Sundowns opened the scoring in the 19th minute courtesy of Leonardo Castro before Warriors midfielder Billiat doubled the lead with a strike in the 37th minute.

The goal was Billiat’s 9th of the campaign, steering the Aces Youth Academy product in contention for the golden boot award.

Wednesday’s goal took Billiat’s tally to 9 goals, two less than Collins Mbesuma who tops the scorers’ charts with 11 goals.

Mbesuma has failed to score in his last two matches contrary to Billiat who has scored four times in his last five games.

Terence Makola reduced the deficit for the sea robbers in the 72nd minutes but Sundowns held on for a 2-1 win as they registered their 6th win on the trot.
