Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has saluted the performance and leadership of Willard Katsande, while he is pleased with the progress of young defender Lorenzo Gordinho.
Katsande, an Amakhosi everpresent in recent seasons, reasserted his value with a second straight Man-of-the-Match display in the club’s 2-0 win at Golden Arrows on Tuesday night.
The midfield enforcer has also chipped in with three goals this campaign.
“He’s been a role model and not only in that match. You can look back at previous matches,” says Komphela.
“Not only that he’s been performing well… he has been scoring goals and he is a great leader.”
Gordinho, 21, has also picked up a couple of Man of the Match awards in what has been his breakout season at Naturena.
Komphela says: “It’s pleasing and at least it will help him grow and he’s only 21.
“I hope with time he will become a better defender… not only in the best interests of Kaizer Chiefs but for the national game.”
