From Merit Munzwembiri in Congo Brazzaville – Zimbabwe concluded the 2015 African Games with another bronze from the tennis girls team.
After losing 2-0 on Thursday, Valeria Bhunu and Pauline Chawafambira recovered to win this Friday bronze medal contest against Nigeria.
Bhunu beat Melissa Ifdzen 7-5, 6-2 while Chawafambira dispatched Elizabeth Pam 6-1, 6-4.
The men’s team event had Mark Fynn losing 6-0, 6-7, 1-6 to Egypt’s Mohammed Mussa while Dzuwa did not play as he is nursing an eye injury.
The Zimbabwe captain and coach Dzuwa expressed contentment at having taken 4 bronze medals.
The games reached the twilight stage this Friday and a closing ceremony set for Saturday brings the curtain down on the 11th African Games in Brazzaville.
