Second position in the Premier Soccer League will tomorrow be at stake when FC Platinum and Dynamos lock horns in the major highlight of topflight action slated for this Saturday.
Chicken Inn are four points clear at the top of the PSL standings with 43 points, but that gap could be closed if the Game Cocks fail to win and either Dynamos or FC Platinum pick up maximum points in their league meeting at Mandava Stadium tomorrow.
DeMbare, who have picked up 11 points from a possible 15 in their last five games, head into Saturday’s battle against FC Platinum hoping for good fortunes.
“We know our encounter with FC Platinum will not be a walk in the park, but we hope the boys will prevail.
“As you know we are heading towards the end of the season and this is where Dynamos usually does wonders,” said coach Tonderai Ndiraya.
FC Platinum, who are third with 38 points, however head into tomorrow’s fixture against the Glamour Boys in high spirits especially having won 4 of their last five games, a good run which Norman Mapeza will be hoping his charges will maintain.
“This is a massive game for us. We have prepared well for the game against Dynamos.
“All we need to do is to remain focused given our recent form. Dynamos are a big club which poses a huge threat, but our boys are ready for the challenge,” said Mapeza.
Although the limelight will be on DeMbare and Kugona Kunenge Kudada, focus will also be on Chicken Inn who clash with ZPC Kariba in what promises to be a tough encounter.
While the GameCocks are hoping to assert their title credentials with victory over ZPC Kariba, Kauya Katuruturu will be seeking a positive result which could go a long way in ensuring they survive relegation.
In the capital, Harare City host Highlanders, while Flame Lilly play Hwange at Lafarge Stadium.
