Zimbabwe’s Mighty Warriors will definitely be playing in the fourth and final round of the Olympic qualifiers.
This was revealed by ZIFA, who say they have agreed to FIFA’s ultimatum to give commitment that they are able to travel and host the final fixture.
ZIFA CEO, Jonathan Mashingaidze said they have confirmed Zimbabwe’s capacity to travel to Cameroon and host the West African team in the final round of the Women Olympic qualifier.
“We have confirmed our willingness to participate in the final round and thus have since consulted with our ministry who have recommended that a team of people work towards gathering together these resources for the Cameroon fixture,” he said.
The Mighty Warriors were thrust into the final round of the Olympic qualifiers after Cote d’Ivoire who had a 3-nil goal cushion withdrew from the race.
This forced FIFA to give Zimbabwe progression but on condition that the football institution guarantees it has the finances for the two legged fixture against Cameroon.
