According to the reports Sportbrief have received from Skysports,Wolfsburg player De Bruyne is heading to Etihad stadium in a deal worth €70m. Asked for when the deal will be announced, the reliable source said the deal is to be announced on Monday.
Several online publications have written of the imminent deal but apparently Skysports have wrapped up the speculations around De Bruyne’s departure from Wolfsburg.
Wolfsburg value the former Chelsea midfielder at more than £50m and it is understood they are reluctant to move from that asking price.
The fee for Otamendi is £33m which, when combined with the £49m the club paid Liverpool for Raheem Sterling, represents a major investment in the City squad which would be increased further by the purchase of De Bruyne.
City have also splashed out on Fabian Delph, Patrick Roberts and Enes Unal this summer.
Kevin de Bruyne is set to travel to Cologne for Wolfsburg’s Bundesliga match tomorrow in a game reportedly to be his last in Wolfsburg colours.
