The report claims that the 30-year-old will put pen-to-paper on a new extension by the end of the week, putting to an end speculation surrounding his future.
Ashley Young is now in the final 12 months of the contract he initially signed following his move from Aston Villa for a fee in the region of £17m back in 2011 (via BBC).
The English man has seen his form growing progressively under the tutelage of Louis van Gaal last season, and should the deal materialise it would represent a big reward for his efforts.
It total, Young started 23 of his 26 appearances in the Premier League last term, scoring twice. His crowning performance came in the 4-1 victory over neighbours Manchester City, in which he set up two assists and scored one for himself.
Young was being linked with a move to Premier League rivals Tottenham this summer (via Metro).
Is this a good move by Louis van Gaal?
