Chelsea have lost the race to sign Atletico Madrid playmaker Arda Turan, according to sensational reports. Television presenter Ersin Duzen, who hosts popular Turkish football programme Futbol Gunlugu, claims Turan has snubbed Chelsea in favour of the Red Devils.Duzen continues to claim the £29m-rated Turkish international has agreed personal terms with the Premier League giants ahead of a money-spinning move.Turan’s agent Ahmed Bulut told NTVSpor: “We want to reveal his new team as soon as possible because there is so much pressure on us. “Arda’s new team will be clear within four days.”
Meanwhile Starsport understands Stoke have rejected Chelsea’s £6m offer for goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. The Bosnian international has been tipped to replace Petr Cech, however the Blues will need to up their bid to loosen the Potters’ grip.
Inter Milan are planning a double raid for Chelsea midfield stars John Obi Mikel and Juan Cuadrado. According to Sky Sport Italia, Roberto Mancini will consider an approach for the Colombian dynamo, who has failed to make an impression since his £23.3m switch.
Inter are also monitoring Stamford Bridge veteran Mikel, but will only swoop if Galatasaray midfielder Felipe Melo declines their advances, report the Daily Mail.Goalkeeper David Seaman thinks Arsenal’s signing of Petr Cech could help strip Chelsea of their Premier League title. The Czech keeper ended a trophy-laden 11-year association with Chelsea yesterday after finally completing a long-anticipated move to their London neighbours.Seaman said: “Chelsea’s loss could, and likely will, be Arsenal’s gain. In my opinion this signing could genuinely be the difference between who will come first and who will come second next season.”
