The New Patrick Vieira Emerging At Arsenal

ARSENAL midfielder Francis Coquelin has revealed he wants to become the next Patrick Vieira.

The Frenchman broke into the Gunners’ first-team this term due to a number of injuries in the midfield.

And while he knows he has some way to go, the 23-year-old hopes he can emulate the success of Vieira – who enjoyed nine successful years in north London.

Coquelin said: “I’m not going to say to you I am [similar to Vieira], obviously I want to be but I think it’s down to the performance I put in every week so I’m just trying to give me best every game so hopefully I can do that in the long term.

I’m just trying to give my best every game Francis Coquelin said.

“Sometimes you profit from injuries and that was what happened with me.I always had confidence in myself and belief in myself – I just need the chance.

“I got the chance because other people got injured and tried to grab it with both hands and do as well as I could.”

Is Francis Coquelin the right candidate to fit in the shoes of the all-time midfielder, Patrick Vieira? Let’s hear your views…
